2019 School of the Art Institute of Chicago Scholarship Recipient

Morgan Gruer, 25, $3000 to take a Painting & Drawing Intensive and A Drawing on Site: Urban Sketching Intensive. Morgan is a multidisciplinary Director, Animator and Artist who works between New York and Los Angeles. She grew up in a creative household in New Jersey where she fostered a passion for art, design, music, and film, and was fortunate enough to build a career that combines all of these. Morgan studied Communications Design at Pratt Institute, and her work stems from this interdisciplinary background, seamlessly fusing live action animation, illustration, design, and effect supervision. Morgan draws on her passion for film and art to direct videos for artists such notables as Rihanna, Celine Dion, and Ed Sheeran. She was the recipient of a 2016 Naomi Rabb Winston Two Dimensional Art Scholarship that aided her to study at The Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Skopelos, Greece.
