Ages 19-22
Evan Lazdowski, 22, New Jersey Chapter, $4000 to pay either the remaining cost of tuition at the 2020 Chautauqua institution and/or tuition costs for my first semester of graduate school at The Juilliard School.
Mackenzie Jacquemin, 22, Ohio River Valley Chapter, $1000 for summer program tuition at Chautauqua institution to study with Marlena Malas.
Casey Mayo, 19, Kentucky Chapter, $1000 to pay toward tuition to study as a studio artist at Sonfest (a summer music program) in Los Angeles, CA.
Liza Monasebian, 20, Greater New York Chapter, $1000 to pay toward undergraduate tuition, in an effort to further education and career in opera and classical voice performance.
Alexis Seminario, 21, Greater New York Chapter, $1000 to pay for summer tuition at Chautauqua.
Ages 16 – 18
Caitlin Chisham, 17, Little Rock Chapter, $2,500 for a summer program and private study to attend the Boston University Tanglewood Vocal Artists Program.
Elizabeth Hanje, 17, Birmingham Chapter, $500 to pay toward college tuition.
Zoe Meier, 16, St. Louis Chapter, $500 to pay toward college tuition.
Wooldjina Present, 18, Florida East Coast Chapter, $500 to pay for voice lessons and coaching at a summer program.
2020 Judges
Justyna Geirmola brings a traditional European flavor to opera with a layered, luxuriant voice, and striking beauty. She is associated with Jersey City State University in Jersey City NJ and teaches privately. She is associated with Bravo. Justyna made her Zankel Hall debut at Carnegie Hall this year singing a concert of works by the Polish composer Stanislaw Moniuszko. She was born in Poland.
Mariana Karpatova is an opera singer associated with The Opera at Florham. She is a basic voice technique lecturer and private voice instructor at Farleigh Dickinson University in Madison NJ. Marian has been recognized as a specialist in training singers for contemporary and classical music, in both the youth and advanced professional categories. She also teaches in her private studio. Mariana was a student at The Juilliard Opera Center.
Martin Sedek is a Polish-American composer and conductor. He is an award-winning voice in the world of choral and orchestral music. He serves as Music Director and Conductor of the Choral Art Society of NJ. as well as Associate Conductor for The Masterwork Chorus. As a member of the choral and theory faculties at Montclair State University’s Cali School of Music, Martin is Assistant Conductor for the MSU Chorale and Visiting Professor of Music Theory.
