Winston 2-D Art

2021 Judges

Bill Godfrey received a B.S. in Art Education from Edinboro University (Edinboro, PA) in 1972 before doing graduate work at Cranbrook Academy of Art (Bloomfield Hills, MI).  Godfrey was recognized for his artistic achievements by Edinboro University in 2003 as the recipient of their Distinguished Alumni Award.  

Godfrey served as a teacher, docent, and curriculum developer for the Carnegie Museum of Art (Pittsburgh, PA) for a decade.  His artwork is prominently featured in museums, universities, religious institutions, and private collections around the country.  Godfrey is the current President of the Natrona Comes Together Association (Natrona, PA), a 501c3 nonprofit that uses art installations to enhance the Allegheny River front.  

Bill Godfrey's studio space is a custom refurbished industrial building on the banks of the Allegheny River near Pittsburgh, PA. 

Briget Shields graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and attended Carnegie Mellon University in the Fine Arts Department.  Shields works primarily in oils, acrylics and watercolors as well as jewelry design.  

Shields has worked at the Frick Fine Arts Museum (Pittsburgh, PA) for the past 21 years.  The Frick Pittsburgh is a cluster of museums and historical buildings located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States and formed around the Frick family's nineteenth-century residence known as "Clayton". It focuses on the interpretation of the life and times of Henry Clay Frick industrialist and Art Collector.

Shields has served as a Senior Portfolio judge at CAPA, The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts.  She is always in search of new artistic interests and inspirations.

Kristen Monier received her B.A. in Studio Art from Seton Hill University (Greensburg, PA).  She is a freelance artist who specializes in monochromatic drawings and portraiture.

Monier’s work was featured in the juried show of the Westmoreland Art Nationals (Greensburg, PA) and the Norwin Art League’s “Art in the Streets” (Irwin, PA).  

She has worked in art therapy, helping people of different abilities to understand, appreciate, and create art.
